The 30 Day Yoga Challenge

Yogis galore!

Okay. I know I promised that this week I would wrap up with the Chakra series. Woops! I did it again. Or I suppose I can’t reduce my failure to a Brit Brit quote. Because technically, woops, I didn’t do it again.

But what I have done is something that I can already tell is going to be awesome for me,and if you decide to do it with me, it’s going to be awesome for you too. Why am I being so weird, quoting Brit Brit and being cryptic? I just got out of my seventh straight day of full yoga practice. I’m crazy filled with energy. I’m feeling crazy free. And I’m feeling crazy goofy and joyful at the moment. Do I need dub step and three energy drinks to write this post? Not today. And the way things are going, I’d reckon that I won’t need those things tomorrow, or the day after, or for the next thirty days.

Why thirty days? Because I’ve decided to take on the thirty day challenge. It’s thirty straight days of full practice. That’s right, I’m getting set in a daily yoga practice and I think you should too.

Although I’ve practiced yoga for several years, I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever done yoga for thirty days straight. I can’t honestly say that I’ve ever been very good at commitments. A broken engagement, unfinished novel, and puppy that now lives with my parents, can all attest to that idea. But today is a new day. As a matter of fact, it’s new day number seven.

I haven’t really set a time limit or a schedule for my daily yoga. But I guess there’s no better time than the present. Now I’ve seen 30 day challenges where people commit to 10 minutes a day. If that’s all you’ve got, than more power to you. But I plan on making yoga a huge part of my life in the coming years. So I’m going to commit to at least an hour a day. I’m also going to set the parameter that it will preferably be in a studio setting. If I can’t make it to one, I’ll still set a timer for an hour… no cheating!

Judging how I feel right now, there will be no cause for cheatin’. Seriously, I feel fantastic. I’ll keep you posted over the next 23 days. Wish me luck!
